According to allegations attributed to multiple sources, a senior executive at Megaspeed, the Singapore-based AI company suspected of routing Nvidia AI GPUs to China, may be a Chinese intelligence operative passing information to Beijing. The person in question is Alice Huang, also known as Huang Le, who has a close business relationship with Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang.

US intelligence has reportedly been aware of Alice Huang's activities for more than a year and briefed President Donald Trump on the matter. Trump is said to have chosen to take no action, apparently to avoid hurting Nvidia's sales or antagonizing China.

Probe began at a data center in Malaysia

Alice Huang is listed as managing director of Megaspeed, one of Nvidia's cloud partners. The company builds data centers and rents the computing power inside them to Chinese firms such as Alibaba.

The scrutiny of the company reportedly began when US Commerce Department officials visited Megaspeed's data center in Malaysia. They found the Nvidia equipment the company had ordered still sitting in its boxes. That raised suspicion that the hardware had only just arrived or was being held for onward shipment rather than installed at the site. It is unclear why US intelligence agencies began looking at Alice Huang in the first place. Megaspeed was also accused last year of helping smuggle roughly $2 billion worth of Nvidia chips.

Photographed meetings with Jensen Huang

There are documented instances of Alice Huang appearing with Jensen Huang in public settings. A photo from an informal event around Computex 2024 shows her seated next to him alongside other executives; it appeared in a LinkedIn post by Alice Wong, who was introduced as Megaspeed's chairwoman. About a year later, during Computex 2025, she was photographed leaving a Taipei restaurant with business partners and Jensen Huang.

A Nvidia spokesperson said Megaspeed is no different from many of its regional cloud customers, and that Huang's meetings with customer executives are a routine part of the CEO's job, with thousands of such meetings each year. According to the company, regional cloud customers only receive ordinary commercial information; Nvidia does not share trade secrets or information that bears on national security.

No defensive briefing yet; China denies the claims

According to the sources, Jensen Huang has not yet received a defensive briefing, the kind of warning US counterintelligence units sometimes give to American citizens targeted by foreign intelligence services. Surveillance of Alice Huang is said to be ongoing, and the report speculates that the briefing may have been withheld so as not to tip her off. US officials reportedly do not believe Jensen Huang was aware of any intelligence activity on Alice Huang's part.

The Chinese Embassy in Washington rejected the allegations as groundless smears and slander. Nvidia said it was confident that if the US government viewed any individual as a threat to American industry, it would let the company know, adding that it frequently receives information from the government about parties of concern and acts accordingly.
