Apple will unveil its first touchscreen OLED MacBook on October 28. The official invitation the company sent out carries the slogan 'Pro and tell', which fits the rumors reported so far: new OLED MacBook Pro models with touch input, along with an updated iMac and an OLED iPad mini, may also appear at the event.

The event is reportedly taking place in Los Angeles. Two new phone launches are also set for the same day in China. Other developments this week include the global release of the Oppo Find X10 series, Apple's repair parts pricing for the iPhone 18 Pro, and a sharp downturn in the Indian smartphone market.

Two more Chinese launches on October 28

The iQOO Neo12 will also be introduced in China on October 28. The company has shared the phone's design and three color options: Fierce Edge, Shadow Black and Frost Blade Blue. The device will use a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, a dedicated Q3 gaming chip and a 2K-resolution 185Hz AMOLED display. It is also said to ship with a 9,000mAh battery.

Xiaomi, meanwhile, confirmed that the Redmi K100 will launch in China on the same date. The phone comes with a 10,000mAh battery, 100W fast charging, a Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset and a 6.83-inch AMOLED display.

Oppo Find X10 series goes global

The Oppo Find X10 and Find X10 Pro Max have gone on sale globally. The Find X10 starts at 1,300 euros / 1,100 pounds, while the Find X10 Pro Max is priced at 1,800 euros / 1,500 pounds. The Pro Max combines a Dimensity 9600 Pro chipset built on a 2nm process, a 6.78-inch 144Hz AMOLED display and a triple 200MP camera setup. The standard Find X10 uses a Dimensity 9600M processor and dual 200MP cameras.

One notable detail is battery capacity in Europe: both models are sold there with a 7,150mAh battery. Versions offered in China and some other markets carry 8,000mAh.

iPhone 18 Pro repair parts go on sale

Apple has put spare parts and repair tools for the iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max on sale through its Self Service Repair Store. Replacement displays cost 329 dollars for the Pro and 379 dollars for the Pro Max. The battery is 129 dollars, dropping to roughly 67 dollars when the old battery is returned. The new variable-aperture camera is 249 dollars, or about 189 dollars with a return credit. The camera price is unchanged from last year despite the added variable aperture.

Separately, the iPhone Duo reportedly began shipping this week, with a battery capacity of 4,883mAh.

India posts its weakest third quarter since 2016

Published data show the Indian smartphone market had its weakest third quarter since 2016. Shipments fell 26 percent year on year to 35.8 million units, with rising prices and cautious consumer spending cited as the main causes.

Samsung reclaimed the lead with 6.7 million units and a 19 percent share, followed by vivo with 6.4 million, Oppo with 4.9 million, Xiaomi with 4.7 million and Apple with 3.9 million. On the memory side, Samsung has reportedly already locked up 70 percent of its 2027 DRAM output and all of its HBM production under five-year contracts. The expected memory shortage could push prices up, potentially making upcoming phones, including the Galaxy S27 series, more expensive.
